Using a composite face drawn from several of Rembrandt's self-portraits, Richard has drapped Van Rijn in the elegant garb of his 1640 self-portrayal. With "The Mill" scene of 1645 as a backdrop, the ambillect of human portraiture is seen floating along in a solitary but noble vessel christened, "Amazing Grace." |
